Listen! Fidelity to proper Bible interpretation isn’t an option.
You must Strive for it
[15] Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV
It’s funny how we go for Rhema when it’s convenient but accept contextual interpretation when it’s not convenient.
I once had to explain this at a Bible school where I taught.
I used this example
“Let the weak say I am strong.”
This is the very opposite of confessing God’s word, as the utterance was to call out the enemy into battle.
[10] Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
Joel 3:10 KJV
See the pretext and post-text.
[9] Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
[11] Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O Lord.
Joel 3:9,11 KJV
After we all saw this, the pastor’s wife now asked if the Holy Spirit still couldn’t use the verse for something else, etc.
There you go, Pentecostals and charismatics and their thing called Rhema. So, I asked the pastor to read 1 Corinthians 3:21.
[21] Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
1 Corinthians 3:21 KJV
Since we usually use this text for ALL THINGS, excluding nothing, even though the context was clear. So, since we can use Rhema, I asked the pastor if I could claim his wife, as all things.
He screamed blue murder!
Exactly. It’s the bible’s interpretation of selfish and convenient interest.
A fellow once said God doesn’t spare His children; He could give up on them. Guess his text?
[32] He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up.
Romans 8:32 KJV
Are you surprised?
Don’t be, it’s his rhema!
The spirit gave him!
It goes on and on
“As a man thinketh in his heart” for success motivation
Really? Have you read through it?
[7] For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
Proverbs 23:7 KJV
It’s about human conceit and deceit. So much more.
Don’t ever allow anyone to use “rhemalization” to pull wool over your eyes.
As I always teach in class: A TEXT OF SCRIPTURE CAN NEVER MEAN WHAT IT NEVER MEANT.

Simple! That’s why no matter the cacophony of noise trying to label some of us as being critical, we won’t be subjected to their manipulation.
We shall insist that Jesus, the scriptures mustn’t be used as personal philosophy.
