The Law Of Faith: Pastor Chris

Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Romans 3:27 KJV

There are natural laws God set in place to regulate the elements and forces of the earth. If all other elements connected to them remain constant, they work the same way every time. By applying the right knowledge, you can always use the laws of gravity, sound, light, electricity, motion, thermodynamics, etc. to your advantage.

In the realm of the spirit, there are also spiritual laws that control circumstances in the physical realm. They ultimately determine the way a man’s life goes because life is spiritual. The law of faith is one of the fundamental laws in the realm of the spirit.

Faith is a law. It functions in the Kingdom of God. Like all other laws, it can work for or against you, depending on how you use it. Sometimes, some Christians wonder, “I thought everything would be better since I’ve become a Christian but things haven’t changed. My condition seems to have worsened. What have I done wrong?”

Well, the problem may not be that you’ve done anything wrong. There just may be something you aren’t doing right. This is why the teaching of God’s Word is important, so you learn the principles of God’s Kingdom and know how you can always use them to your advantage and enjoy your inheritance in Christ.

There are many Christians today who don’t understand the law of faith, and so live defeated lives. In the same way that a man can misunderstand the law of electricity and have it work against him, a child of God may suffer things he ought not to suffer because he misunderstands the law of faith.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Hosea 4:6 KJV

God’s people are crushed and defeated because they lack knowledge.

As a law, faith works all the time. You didn’t wake up this morning wondering if there was enough gravity in your room today. If you wanted to find out, all you needed to do was roll off the edge of your bed for a rude awakening.

The Scripture in Romans 10: 6-10 encapsulates how the law of faith works. The Bible says:

The righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise.

Romans 6:10 KJV

This means that the man who has been made righteous in Christ speaks faith. He doesn’t ask:

Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

Romans 10:6-7

He doesn’t ask how it will happen. When things go wrong in your life and you want a change, don’t ask, “How will God do it?” The problem may look so big but God says don’t ask how. Stop trying to figure out how. He is your “how”.

The next verse tells us exactly what to do:

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10: 8-9 KJV

The Bible says the Word is so near you; it’s in your mouth and heart, and it is the Word of faith that we preach. If you confess it with your mouth and believe it in your heart, you will be saved.

The word “confess” is the Greek word “homologeo”, which means “to speak the same things in consent with”. This means you’re saying the same thing in agreement with God. God specifically used the word “confess” so we would know He doesn’t want us to say just anything; He wants us to say what He has said.

This is the same principle for salvation; you say the same thing with God on the Lordship of Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and salvation automatically becomes yours.

In operating the law of faith, you’ve got to say things in consent with God. That means you speak the same things that God has said concerning you. For example, God has said:

Christ in you, the hope of glory

Colossians 1:27 KJV

Now you say, “Yes. Christ in me, the hope of glory. Therefore, I do not get sick!”

No matter your condition right now, keep talking God’s Word. You don’t stop until you receive your miracle, and when you have it, you move on to take on bigger challenges with your faith. You can be sure that you’ll get the same results all the time because faith is a law!
